Rewards – Two Cardinals
Got a new artist on my radar! Rewards is the moniker that Aaron Pfenning, former member of New York’s Chairlift, chose for his solo project when he left the band in 2010 to purse a solo career. His first single, Equal Dreams featuring Solange Knowles, was released earlier this year by DFA Records. Although an album release date hasn’t been pinned down, Aaron has been keeping busy by touring with We Are Scientists & Warpaint while also collaborating with Dev of Blood Orange for his new album. Rewards is definitely a creative departure from Chairlift, producing a warmer, dreamier vibe with its layers of guitar & synth. Keeping an eye on this guy cause I like what he’s puttin’ out!
